In years 3 and 4, the children continue to build on their strong phonic knowledge and have daily spelling lessons which are taught through our spelling scheme, No Nonsense Spelling. They are then encouraged to apply these taught skills and knowledge in their reading and writing. 

A range of high quality texts drive our English teaching, which allows children to develop a love of reading. We still hear the children read on a weekly basis and encourage them to read regularly at home as part of their home learning.  We also continue to use the VIPERS approach to teach all the reading domains through our high-quality texts. 

Pheasant class have two PE sessions a week, which includes swimming in the Summer term. Mr Mandry, our specialist PE coach, teaches us once a week; we really look forward to these lessons. 

Maths continues to be taught using the White Rose Maths scheme and the children love using Times Table Rock Stars to refine their Times Table knowledge and rapid recall! This will help to prepare the children for their Multiplication Tables Check at the end of Year 4.
